Keynote Speaker: Scott R. Campbell, PhD

Panel Discussion: Dr Scott Campbell, Rebecca Young RN, Dr. George Dempsey, and Jerry Simmons PA

Scott R. Campbell, PhD is a medical entomologist and the Chief of the Arthropod-Borne Disease Laboratory for the Suffolk County Department of Health Services.
He strongly believes in the importance of educational outreach to better understand and to help prevent tick bites and tick-borne illnesses.

Dr. Campbell has been involved in public health and research of tick-borne diseases for over 30 years. He and his staff are responsible for countywide surveillance for mosquito-borne and tick-borne pathogens that cause human disease. Dr. Campbell has been or currently is involved with a variety of committees or working groups related to vector-borne disease including being a current member of the Scientific Advisory Panel for the Stony Brook Southampton Hospital Regional Tick Borne Disease Resource Center.

Following Dr Campbell’s keynote presentation, there will be a panel discussion with experts in the field of tick-borne disease as well as a Q&A.
Refreshments will be served.
