SPECIAL PROGRAM: Sunset Kayak Tour at Conscience Point Preserve: Ages 8+
Tour Leaders: Melanie Meade (SOFO) and Eric Wurzburg (East End Explorer)
SOFO is partnering with East End Explorer Kayak Tours for a sunset kayak paddle on Saturday, September 12 from 4 to 7 pm at Conscience Point Preserve in Southampton, no parking stickers required. Melanie Meade (SOFO) and Eric Wurzburg (East End Explorer) will lead the group in a tour of North Sea Harbor including the Southampton Town founders historic marker, the Conscience Point Shellfish Hatchery and the salt marsh trail to Serendipity Pond, near the inlet from North Sea Harbor to Peconic Bay. On the paddle back we’ll stop off at Hideaway Island to pull a beach seine and look for shore crabs and salt marsh fishes and even dig up some clams so bring your water shoes!
Kayak rentals available from East End Explorer, $60 single, $90 double or bring your own kayak. Please call the museum to reserve a kayak. SOFO members free, non-members $10 per person, payment by cash only please, at the program
