Program Presenter: April Boitano —The Tick Lady—certified Early Childhood & Elementary Education teacher

“The Tick Lady” will be attending the Long Pond Greenbelt Celebration at SOFO Saturday October 6th from 10am to 1pm.  At noon, she will offer an educational presentation for children and adults of all ages “Train Your Eyes to be Tick Wise”. The program teaches tick bite safety and awareness for protection of people, pets and home environments and includes information about: preventing tick bites using multiple strategies, what to do if bitten by a tick, how to properly remove a tick, where to send a tick for testing, signs and symptoms of tick-borne illness. The program is presented in cooperation with Southampton Stony Brook Hospital’s Tick-Borne Disease Resource Center and East End Tick Control. Don’t be scared – be prepared!  Come empower yourself through education just in time for Halloween!
