Walk Leader: Crystal Oakes, South Fork Natural History Museum (SoFo) Environmental Educator
Join us for a short walk in Vineyard Field behind the museum to look and listen for signs of spring. We will explore the different ways plants and animals have survived the winter and how they are preparing for spring. By lifting wooden boards that are scattered near the trails, we’ll examine who’s hiding underneath while we look for signs of new plant growth and listen for the songs of birds—and maybe the vocalization of an amphibian—as they prepare for the breeding season. Heavy rains cancel.
Advance reservations are required for all events. For more information, reservations, and directions to meeting places, please call: (631) 537-9735.
