Cosponsored with the South Fork Natural History Museum and the Montauk Oceans Institute.
The Montauk Oceans Institute is an interactive environmental museum located at the Montauk Point Lighthouse. The institute is a non-political platform whose mission is to identify and explain the current ecological challenges to our oceans, waterways, beaches and marine habitats; to focus on highlights of Long Island’s rich maritime history; and to present and inspire local initiatives to solve regional and global environmental problems. Their 2017 exhibit focused on the concept of getting to know your fisherman, and the fish that ends up on your dinner plate, with the hope that visitors better understand the legacy of the Montauk Commercial Fishing Industry and gain a greater respect for the various fish species that call Long Island waters home. Join us for a special SoFo visit to the Montauk Oceans Institute and find out what their exciting new 2018 exhibit is all about!
Advance reservations are required for all events. For more information, reservations, and directions to meeting places, please call: (631) 537-9735.
