Storytime Leader: Xylia Serafy, South Fork Natural History Museum Environmental Educator
Did you know that there are more than 250,000 rivers in the United States? There are even more rivers in Canada! Rivers are home to many different kinds of wildlife, providing food, shelter, and sanctuary during times of breeding and migration. Join Xylia for a reading of Over in a River: Flowing Out to the Sea by Marianne Berkes to learn about the importance of rivers. Count the baby animals that are found throughout different watersheds across the country, search for the hidden animals in each picture, and create your own river portrait to take home! Materials fee $3
