Walk Leader: Paul King III, SOFO Environmental Educator
The Northwest Woods is one of East Hampton’s most intriguing natural areas. This 5,000-acre expanse of forest between the Sag Harbor Turnpike (Route 114) and the west side of Three Mile Harbor was, until development began in earnest in the early 1970s, one of the most rural areas of East Hampton. On this walk we will explore a section of the preserve near the salt marsh. While many of the pines have fallen from damage caused by the Southern Pine Beetle, they now provide great habitat for many creatures.
There is a $15 fee for Adults and $10 fee for children for this program. Members are free.
