Zoom Presentation: Adventures on the Trail—Making a Trail Journal with Maps

Program Leader: Melanie Meade: SOFO Education & Outreach Coordinator

Walking on a trail is an adventure. It is different every time and in every season. One way to remember and share your adventures is to journal your experiences while out in nature. To keep track of your hikes you can make a family or individual trail journal, like a trail log where you write down the details in a notebook. In a journal you can add a trail map with topographic details, mark the distance you hiked, or add a photo or a sketch of things that you see, hear, or smell along the trail. A Trail Journal can be a personal goal, start one in the winter and keep your journal going all year long. Join Melanie in this Zoom presentation with museum friends as we share a few suggestions on how you can make a trail journal. Be creative with your own ideas and make your trail journal extra special! This program is for all ages.
