Leader: Dr. Leslie Allee, Director of Curriculum Development and Outreach, Cornell’s Lost Ladybug Project
Cosponsored by the Peconic Land Trust and the South Fork Natural History Museum
The Trust and the South Fork Natural History Museum (SoFO) have teamed up with Dr. Leslie Allee of Cornell University for our annual search for the extremely rare 9-spotted ladybug, New York State’s official insect, found on Long Island only at Quail Hill Farm. Come aid Dr. Allee’s research by looking for and gently capturing ladybugs to be identified and then released. Children must be accompanied by an adult. This is a free program. The rain date is Wednesday, July 17. Please park on Deep Lane and meet at the farmstand. For more information on the “Lost Ladybug Project” visit https://www.lostladybugrescue.com/aboutus.asp
