Join artist Roisin Bateman in a fun and supportive environment in which to explore different ways to work from— and with—nature using Japanese sumi ink. We will use bamboo brushes, as well as sticks and  dried plants, as tools with which to draw and paint. With these materials we will explore various kinds of line and gesture, as well as ink washes. Class will begin with a demonstration, followed by time to experiment with the techniques. Students will then have the option to work directly from the rich nature around the museum or continue working indoors from plant material gathered from the gardens.
