Walk Leader: John Turner, noted author, environmentalist, and member of the South Fork Natural History Museum (SOFO) Board of Directors

John Turner will lead a trip to Montauk Point. We’ll be looking for winter birds: loons, sea ducks, alcids such as Razorbills and murres, seals, etc. Park in the Montauk Point State Park upper parking lot and walk up to the Pavilion where we will meet. We’ll bird the tip and then head west stopping to walk the seal haul-out trail. On the way back, we might make additional stops to look for reported highlights. Afterwards we will stop by the Lazy Point home of SOFO Board Member Carl Safina and Patricia Paladines for some warm refreshments and cookies. Limited enrollment.

This is a free program. Advanced reservations are required for all events. For more information, reservations, and directions to meeting places, please call: (631) 537-9735.
