Kayaking in a Salt Marsh
May 17 @ 9:00 am

Salt marshes are some of the most beautiful landscapes in the world, but even more importantly, they provide ecological services that are vital to the health of our environment. As we paddle around Scallop Pond in Southampton, we will learn about why these habitats are important, as well as search for the creatures that inhabit them. Such animals include horseshoe crabs, diamondback terrapins, mollusks, ospreys, and more!
Please Note: SOFO is not able to provide kayaks, so you must be able to transport one to the location.
Program Leader: Tommy Steinbrecher, SOFO Environmental Educator
