East End Environment Series: Re-establishing Eastern Long Island’s Oyster Reefs
November 23 @ 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm
Join SOFO for a discussion with Dr. Bob Tymann on the role of oyster reefs in the ecosystem and their legacy on the East End. He will share his experience building oyster reefs as part of bay restoration efforts: creating a team, navigating the bureaucracy, preparing the materials, working with the East Hampton Town Shellfish Hatchery, and building a reef. The value of high school student internships will be highlighted throughout the discussion. Light refreshments will be available.
Program Leader: Bob Tymann, South Fork Sea Farmers
