In this 2-hour drawing workshop, we will explore form, texture, and structure using the SOFO Taxidermy collection and a few live animal models. We will practice analyzing form while also taking time to slow down and see the animals in detail. Learning to see and seeing to learn is invaluable to an artist’s journey.

This is an all-skill-level experience; bring your love of animals and curiosity about drawing. Supplies will be provided.

Workshop Leader: Jackie Hoving is a Drawing Professor at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, where she works with first-year students to build skills and find their voice as artists. She also works closely with the Pratt Foundation Lab, which is part art studio, part science lab, an innovative space that invites students to explore art and nature.
