About Chris: Born and raised on Long Island, Chris has been exploring the wilds of the Island for over 30 years. As a wildlife photographer, writer, lecturer, and General class, licensed falconer, he enjoys bringing public awareness to the diverse wildlife that calls the island home. His passion for coastal ecology, fishing, and the outdoors led him to obtain a BS in Marine Science from LIU/Southampton, and he currently manages the new Marine Sciences Center at the Southampton campus of Stony Brook University.

About Emmy: Emmy is a female Red-Tailed Hawk who makes her home with Chris and his family. Chris will tell you more about Emmy’s history.

Join us as Chris presents a short history of falconry and then describes the steps he took to become a falconer and collect his first bird. Chris will talk about the training he and Emmy went through to learn to work together, and the other species of hawks and falcons used in the sport of falconry.

Advance reservations are required for all events. For more information, reservations, and directions to meeting places, please call: (631) 537-9735.
