In this lecture-based program, adults will discover the ins and outs of harmful algal blooms (HABs). If you are interested in learning about the causes and effects of HABs and just exactly what they are, please join us for an evening of education and discussion.
The presentation will include a biological background on algae and the species native to our waters. Not all algae are bad, and we’ll teach you just exactly what the difference is. You’ll get to know when and where to keep an eye out for these blooms as well as what is causing them. Having a better understanding of our aquatic ecosystems is the first step toward protecting them! Come learn about the ecological cascade of these blooms and how you can help protect our waters!
