SUMMARY:Summer Star Party (A Free\, In-Person Event)
DESCRIPTION:Hamptons Observatory and SOFO are pleased to present a 30-minute in-person talk by NASA Solar System Ambassador\, William Francis Taylor\, who’ll discuss the constellations and planets that are now visible. Afterwards\, we’ll all head outside for a star party and enjoy a guided tour of the night sky through telescopes. \nProgram leader: Hamptons Observatory’s Senior Educator\, William Francis Taylor. William has been a NASA/JPL Solar System Ambassador since 2014\, helping others learn about and appreciate the universe in which we live. \nThis program is for adults\, teens\, and  children interested in astronomy. \nThis event will only take place if the skies are clear. Feel free to BYOT—Bring Your Own Telescope. Its mission: to foster interest in science\, particularly astronomy\, through educational programs. Lectures\, star parties\, portable planetarium shows\, and other events are held\, often in collaboration with other nonprofit organizations. Hamptons Observatory offers all of its programs free-of-charge (although donations are much appreciated) so that everyone can learn about and enjoy the universe around them.
