Outer Space, The Next Frontier – It’s Out of this World!
Join us at the South Fork Natural History Museum (SoFo), 377 Bridgehampton/Sag Harbor Turnpike, Bridgehampton, New York, on Saturday, November 25, 2017, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., for SoFo’s free, family Thanksgiving Open House, featuring a full day of information about astronomy and outer space exploration. Learn about binoculars and telescopes, space telescopes, Planet Earth– from our doorstep to outer space-, write a note to a space alien, enjoy crafts, face painting, have a blast with your own special stomp rocket, pose for an astronaut photo-op, visit a small demonstration solar house with its own solar car, and, for a small fee – SoFo members $3 per person, non-members $5 per person – take in our StarLab planetarium show. The indoor StarLab planetarium shows – lasting about 20 minutes – will begin at 10:30 a.m. and will be offered at the following times: 10:30 a.m., 11:10 a.m., 11:50 a.m., 1:10 p.m., 1:50 p.m., 2:30 p.m., and 3:10 p.m.. Advance StarLab reservations are strongly recommended. SoFo will begin its Holiday Toy Drive on Saturday, November 25, 2017 at SoFo’s Free Family Thanksgiving Open House, “Space: The Next Frontier.” The Drive will run from November 25 to December 20. If you are able to donate to the Drive this year, we are asking for unwrapped new toys and gift cards for teens. The recipient of the Drive is Heart of the Hamptons (HOH).
